EARNING MADE EASY

Simple 4-Step Process

We bridge the gap between your home charging and the Canadian carbon market. By securely aggregating your charging data, we ensure you receive the financial benefits of the Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR) without the administrative headache.

01

Troubleshooting Your Charger Connection

If your Tesla charger is not appearing in the RoadToEV app after linking your Tesla account, please check the following:

If you have a Tesla Wall Connector successfully connected to your home wifi, it should appear under “My Home” or “Tesla Home” in your Tesla App (viewable by clicking on the vehicle name on the top left corner of the Tesla App), where you can view charging history and status. A wifi connected charger is required, to ensure RoadToEV app can access the charging data for Carbon Credits.

Once your Tesla account is successfully linked to the RoadToEV app, your charger should automatically appear in the “Chargers” section of the app.

If it still does not show up, please ensure:
  • The Tesla account was properly connected in the RoadToEV app
  • The Wall Connector is correctly registered to your Tesla account
  • The charger is connected to Wi-Fi and operating normally
Important note:

The Tesla Wall Connector’s Wi-Fi credentials (including the WPA2 password) are located inside the unit. To access them, carefully remove the top two and bottom two screws on the charger panel.

For a quick reference, you can watch this setup guide:

We Track Your Charging

We track your charging to make sure you get every bit of revenue and earnings you deserve. To keep your information safe, we use industry-standard protocols and proprietary syncing technology that rely on end-to-end encryption. This allows us to aggregate your data securely and send your kWh usage straight from your charger to the government portal, giving you full compliance without putting your privacy at risk.

The standard rate from July 1, 2026 is 10¢/kWh.

Through the referral program, you can earn up to an additional 5¢/kWh, bringing the maximum total rate to 15¢/kWh.

Your increased rate begins the day after you reach an eligible referral milestone.

For example, if you reach 5 eligible referrals on August 26, your rate increases from 10¢/kWh to 11¢/kWh on August 27.

You reach the maximum referral bonus of 5¢/kWh, bringing the maximum total Carbon Credit earnings rate to 15¢/kWh.

You can continue making referrals after 25 and continue earning $20 in Carbon Credits for each eligible referral, but your per-kWh bonus will not increase beyond 5¢/kWh.

If you join RoadToEV using a Tesla Wall Connector, you may be eligible to receive backdated Carbon Credits for eligible EV charging energy consumed as far back as April 1, 2026.

RoadToEV will attempt to retrieve your historical charging records. Backdated credits are subject to RoadToEV being able to successfully extract and verify the required energy data from your Tesla Wall Connector.

For eligible charging energy that can be verified from your Tesla Wall Connector:

  • April 1, 2026 – June 30, 2026: 5¢/kWh

  • July 1, 2026 onward: 10¢/kWh, before any applicable referral bonus

Your actual Carbon Credits will be based on the eligible kWh that RoadToEV is able to verify.

Yes.

If you join using an eligible Tesla Wall Connector, RoadToEV may retrieve eligible historical charging data going back to April 1, 2026, provided the required records are available and can be successfully extracted and verified.

Backdated Carbon Credits can only be awarded for energy records that RoadToEV is able to successfully retrieve and verify. If historical records are unavailable or cannot be extracted, credits cannot be awarded for those unverified charging sessions.

The standard Carbon Credit rate is:

  • 5¢/kWh for eligible charging from April 1 through June 30, 2026

  • 10¢/kWh for eligible charging from July 1, 2026 onward

Beginning August 15, 2026, eligible referrals can also increase your personal Carbon Credit earnings rate by up to an additional 5¢/kWh.

This means the maximum possible earnings rate is 15¢/kWh.

Beginning August 15, 2026, every time you reach another 5 eligible Tesla Connected Carbon Credit referrals, your personal Carbon Credit rate increases by 1¢/kWh.

The increased rate begins the day after you reach the referral milestone. The referral-rate bonus is capped at 5¢/kWh.

Example Tier Structure:

  • • 0–4 eligible referrals: 10¢/kWh
  • • 5–9 eligible referrals: 11¢/kWh
  • • 10–14 eligible referrals: 12¢/kWh
  • • 15–19 eligible referrals: 13¢/kWh
  • • 20–24 eligible referrals: 14¢/kWh
  • • 25+ eligible referrals: 15¢/kWh

Yes.

There is no additional per-kWh bonus beyond the maximum 5¢/kWh referral bonus.

You can continue to refer eligible users after reaching 25 referrals, and you will continue to receive the applicable $20 Carbon Credit reward for each eligible referral.

Once you reach an additional 5 eligible Tesla Connected Carbon Credit referrals, your new Carbon Credit earnings rate starts the following day.

For example, if you reach your 5th eligible referral on August 26, 2026, your Carbon Credit rate increases from 10¢/kWh to 11¢/kWh starting August 27, 2026.

If you subsequently reach your 10th eligible referral on November 10, 2026, your rate increases to 12¢/kWh starting November 11, 2026.

A referral is eligible for the Carbon Credit referral reward when:

  • The referred person joins RoadToEV using your referral link.

  • The referred person is eligible to participate in the Carbon Credits program.

  • The referred person successfully connects an eligible Tesla Wall Connector to RoadToEV.

  • The required eligibility and energy data can be verified.

Both the referrer and the referred user receive $20 in Carbon Credits for an eligible referral.

Yes.

When someone you refer joins RoadToEV and successfully connects an eligible Tesla Wall Connector, both you and the referred user receive $20 in Carbon Credits.

In addition, beginning August 15, 2026, your eligible Tesla Connected Carbon Credit referrals can increase your personal Carbon Credit earnings rate by 1¢/kWh for every 5 eligible referrals, up to a maximum additional 5¢/kWh.

No.

You do not need to have your own Tesla Wall Connector connected to RoadToEV to receive the $20 Carbon Credit referral reward.

However, to earn Carbon Credits from your own home charging, you must connect an eligible Tesla Wall Connector and meet the program requirements.

Yes.

The $20 Carbon Credit referral reward is separate from the per-kWh Carbon Credit earnings you receive from your own eligible charging.

For example, if you refer someone who connects an eligible Tesla Wall Connector, you can receive:

  • $20 in Carbon Credits for the eligible referral.

  • Your applicable Carbon Credit rate per kWh for your own eligible charging.

No.

A referral milestone increases your Carbon Credit rate starting the day after you reach the milestone. The higher rate does not apply retroactively to charging completed before the new rate takes effect.

No.

Under Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR), charging data cannot be counted more than once. A Tesla Wall Connector may only be registered with one carbon credit program during a calendar year.

Registering the same charger with multiple carbon credit providers may result in the forfeiture of accrued Carbon Credits and the immediate disqualification and removal of the charger from the RoadToEV Carbon Credit Program.

When you enroll your Tesla Wall Connector in the RoadToEV Carbon Credit Program, your participation continues for the remainder of the current calendar year.

For example, if you enroll at any time during 2026, your charger will remain enrolled in the RoadToEV Carbon Credit Program through December 31, 2026.

Existing members may withdraw during the annual 15-day withdrawal window, which runs from January 1 through January 15, inclusive.

Send an email request to support@RoadToEV.com between January 1 and January 15.

The withdrawal window applies to users who enrolled before January 1 of the new calendar year.

For example, a user who enrolled during 2026 may submit a withdrawal request between January 1 and January 15, 2027.

Users who enroll on or after January 1 of the current calendar year are committed for that full calendar year. For example, a user who enrolls on January 10, 2027, will participate through December 31, 2027.

RoadToEV will reconcile and pay out all Carbon Credits collected and owed for the preceding calendar year.

If RoadToEV does not receive a written withdrawal request by January 15, your enrollment will automatically renew for the new calendar year.

Your charger will remain enrolled in the RoadToEV Carbon Credit Program for the entire new calendar year. Your next opportunity to withdraw will be during the following year's withdrawal window, from January 1 through January 15.

RoadToEV uses Tesla Wall Connector telemetry and charging-session data to support the aggregation, verification, and submission of eligible charging activity under Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR).

As part of enrollment, customers are required to provide the information and permissions necessary for RoadToEV to process eligible charging data for the Carbon Credit Program.

This may include using relevant charging data to calculate, verify, submit, aggregate, and monetize eligible Carbon Credits compliance and audit agencies when required.

The specific rights, permissions, and obligations associated with participation are set out in the applicable RoadToEV program terms and enrollment documentation.
